July Playlist

“Ragged Company” (song #10) is a great reminder to be true to yourself. Seeking fulfillment through trying to fit a certain mold or impress others leaves you isolated and lonely. Humans are innately flawed. Acknowledge your imperfections and accept that the Lord has bigger plans for you in eternity. –Anne Barrett Hazard O lord I think I’m fallingTo my disbeliefI’m cursing like a sailor and lying like a thiefIt’s hard to heed the calling from Read more…

I’ve heard stories of pillowcases moving around the country now. So far, I know they’ve gone to Oregon, California and Texas. I’ve heard of stories of pillowcases being shared in hospital rooms and the Whole Grocer, too. It seems like every day or so somebody asks me, “hey you’re that guy from St. John’s, right? What’s up with the pillowcases?” And it’s fun. I’m able to tell them, “together, we’re spending the summer dreaming big Read more…

Dream Big Dreams

For the last couple of years, we’ve been organizing our seasons around themes. You might remember the wooden tokens supporting kindness or the lip balm emphasizing hospitality and welcome or the stones and spoons that helped us make stone soup together and focus on table fellowship and the deepening of our commitments to one another. Each of these themes are meant to help us grow spiritually—both individually and as a church, a faith family. Our Read more…
