Rest & Ritual

In June, Martha Lewis of Complete Sleep Solutions led us in a discussion about mindfulness and the importance of sleep for a healthy and happy life. What became clear during the discussion was the inextricable relationship between sleep and our wakeful state – one aspect feeding into the other. Sometimes that feels like a vicious cycle, especially when we seem to be stuck in a season of poor sleep. I talked about that very challenge Read more…

celebrating our own interdependence

It’s hard for me to believe we’re already a month deep into our Summer of [be]Love[d]! I wonder if you’re using your permission slips—giving yourself permission to give and receive love over the course of the next several weeks? Setting an intention like this helps us to develop practices that shape the way we occupy our lives. It helps us to reinforce what God and so many others already know about us—that we are beloved. The Period Project

Girls in Wyoming – including girls in Teton County – are missing school because they don’t have access to period products. At the Jackson Hole Middle School alone, 75% of the discretionary nursing budget goes to pay for tampons and pads for girls who need them. SNAP benefits do not cover period products and they’re taxable in the grocery store because they’re considered “luxury items” putting them out of reach for many families. We know Read more…

Building the Capacity for Love

Do you ever feel like we talk about love around here without ever explaining what we mean? Brian and Jimmy do! And they do an awful lot of the talking! Over the course of the summer, Brian and Jimmy are going to tackle the challenge of building our capacity for love. Together on Sunday mornings, they’ll lead us on a journey of the different ways each of us might tackle growing our awareness of our Read more…

The Summer of be(LOVE)d

Dear Church, The pictures and links and text that you will find within the pages of this document tell the story of a church vibrantly, compassionately, and faithfully serving her people and her community. The stories you’ll read here for the first time or the stories you were a part of during the year aren’t here as a point of PRIDE—the deadliest of the deadly sins. The stories are told again as testimony to your Read more…

Traveling the Way of Love

The Way of Love is a way of life. More than a program or curriculum, it is an intentional commitment to a set of practices. Traveling the Way of Love is a video series hosted Chris Sikkema as he meets Episcopalians and others across the country. Episode Two, entitled REST was filmed in Jackson this year. From the beginning of creation, God Read more…

Take off the cape, Superwoman

How did we go from this… to this… Sara Flitner’s talk last Wednesday reminds us that when we are called into motherhood, it is a sacred call that awakens our inner superhero and inspires us to want to make the world a better place. And while we may have the best intentions for self-care, our needs often get lost in the mix. That manifests in a way that leaves us feeling like we have to Read more…

Start Me Up!

Last month, the Start Up Intensive (SUI) contacted M4M about participating in this year’s cohort. The Start-Up Intensive is a 10-week program, 3 days each week dedicated to launching business ideas from Central Wyoming College and Silicon Couloir. The SUI saw our group as one that serves a unique need and wanted M4M to consider the ways that we could increase membership and our impact in this community. Not surprisingly, our fearless leader, Kirsten Farney, Read more…
