Community Food Resources: How We’re Supporting Each Other Through the SNAP Uncertainty

As the federal shutdown continues, several states are warning they may have to suspend Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits as early as November 1. For many families, SNAP provides a lifeline — helping to put food on the table each week.

Here in Jackson, we know that food security is a community effort. No one should face hunger alone. That’s why we’re gathering resources, local initiatives, and creative ways for families to access healthy, affordable food — right now.

Pooling Local Support

From mobile food pantries to innovative food rescue programs, our valley is filled with partners stepping up to serve. Whether you need a week’s worth of groceries, a free community meal, or a way to stretch your budget, these resources are here for you and your family.

Key Community Resources

Stay up to date with local food distributions, community meals, and pantry hours. The calendar is updated seasonally to reflect schedule changes and special events.

📱 Too Good To Go

The Too Good To Go app connects shoppers with local stores and restaurants — including Whole Foods Market — offering discounted “surprise bags” of surplus food. It’s a smart, sustainable way to save money and reduce food waste.

🥕 Jackson Cupboard

The Jackson Cupboard provides each visitor with up to a week’s worth of groceries, cleaning supplies, and personal care items. Offerings include fresh produce, meat, cheese, pantry staples, paper towels, diapers, and more.
