Not all heroes wear capes. We’re hearing from these community heroes, who you may know: John Millar, Ann Thayer and Larry Veit. These heroes are best known for taking free family portraits in the Jackson community. All spring long, I’ve undertaken a spiritual experiment meant to bolster my own personal spiritual life. The work of the religious professional makes unreasonable demands on one’s spiritual life, and I’ve found it essential to continue to go back to the well so to speak in order to stay fresh and open and present to the movement of the Spirit. Thanks to the 30 volunteers who pitched in to spruce up the chapel, bride’s cabin, and the grounds at our beautiful Chapel of the Transfiguration. Good clean(ing) fun was had by all! Thank you to our amazing volunteers Anna Mae Kass, Nancy Watkins, Anne Rutherford, M.E. Weber, Ann Thayer and Carol Harvey, and the many donors, we had another successful Blood Drive. The American Red Cross collected 36 units of blood that will help save lives of many people. Thank you to all who volunteered or donated!
