The Wedding Service

The form of service is the "Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage" as contained in The Book of Common Prayer, 1979. Click here for an outline of the service. No additions or exceptions are allowed to the format of the service.
Officiant
The officiating clergy will be the Rector or associate clergy of St. John's Episcopal Church of Jackson Hole. Please note that your Officiant will not be assigned to the wedding until 30 days prior. A member of the clergy will be selected according to availability. Visiting clergy may assist at the service when a request is included with your application and the Rector grants permission. When visiting clergy are involved in a wedding, we make every effort to enable them to function in the manner desired by the couple and their families. Gratuities may be given to the Officiant at your discretion. Please do so personally.
Holy Communion
The Eucharist (Communion, the Lord's Supper and Mass during the service) is available upon request.
Unity Candle
We do not include the lighting of a unity candle in our wedding service. For those desiring to light a unity candle, we suggest it be done at the wedding reception, or perhaps at the rehearsal dinner as a symbol of intention.
Music
Music is chosen in consultation with the Music Director of the church. Contract musicians must be approved in advance . For music suggestions click here
