Library Snack Program
Being aware that children who receive free or reduced lunch during the school year are missing a meal during the summer, representatives from the Jackson Cupboard, Teton County Library, and St. John's Episcopal Church met to discuss the issue. After much conversation, the Library Snack Program was born in the summer of 2013. Now in its seventh year, the program has expanded to year-round snacks and Hole Food Rescue has jumped on board. Each week 400 snacks (fresh fruit or vegetables and a carbohydrate) are donated by Jackson Cupboard and Hole Food Rescue, then sorted and delivered to the Teton County Library by St. John's Church volunteers. To date approximately 72,400 snacks have been provided to food insecure children in our community.
If you would like to participate in this love-spreading difference, come to Hansen Hall Mondays or Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. and help sort or sign up to shop or deliver snacks. For more information, contact Margaret Hutton or Pam Woodson at 307.733.2603.
