DESCRIPTION:Join us in St. John’s Chapel for poetry\, meditation and peace. \nSecond Mondays\, 5:30 p.m. \nOur Red Door Series is held on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in St. John’s Chapel\, the small historic building on the corner of North Glenwood and Gill. This series of meditative poetry reading is inspired by Padre Spencer\, who created the Red Door program at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Jackson Heights\, NYC. Here’s how it works: A poet reads one poem\, followed by ten minutes of silent meditation. The poet reads the same poem a second time\, followed by ten minutes of meditation\, then a short conversation with the poet concludes the gathering.

It’s a sweet and creative way to share the spirit of the season — and to make a little mess and a lot of memories! \n🎶 Caroling & Tree Decorating:\nRon will lead us in singing favorite Christmas carols\, and everyone is welcome to help decorate the church Christmas tree after the tea. \n👕 Ugly Sweater Contest:\nWear your most delightfully tacky Christmas sweater — we’ll have a friendly contest and a few small prizes for the most festive (or funniest) outfits! \nCome for the carols\, stay for the cookies\, and enjoy this special time of Christmas fellowship at St. John’s!
